We keep it simple and personal. Here's what to expect.
Find a friend
Browse the animals above and note who you'd like to meet.
Visit
Come meet them by appointment, Tuesday–Saturday, 1–4 PM.
Go home
Finalize the adoption and welcome your new family member.
Adoption fees
Effective January 2026.
Every adoption includes

- Rabies & distemper vaccinations
- Treatment for worms & fleas

Adoption questions, answered
Do I need an appointment to meet an animal?
Yes. We're open Tuesday–Saturday, 1–4 PM, and visits are by appointment so we can give you and the animals our full attention. Call (315) 393-5191 to set one up.
What's included in the adoption fee?
Every adoption includes spay/neuter surgery, rabies & distemper vaccinations, and treatment for worms & fleas. Fees are $250 for dogs and $150 for cats.
Are the animals already spayed or neutered?
Yes — every animal is spayed or neutered before going home. Advocating spay/neuter as the humane way to prevent pet overpopulation is core to our mission.
Can I apply before I visit?
Absolutely. You can start an adoption application online any time, and we'll follow up with you.
I rent my home or already have pets — can I still adopt?
Yes. Just tell us about your household on the application and we'll help match you with an animal that's a good fit. If you'd like to talk it through first, give us a call.
What should I bring to take my new pet home?
A leash for a dog or a carrier for a cat is ideal. Our staff will go over everything else you'll need when you visit.
Do you accept owner surrenders?
Yes, by appointment. Please read Surrendering an animal for what to know, then call us to arrange a time.
