Not sure what we need right now?
Our needs change with the animals in our care. Please call before a big drop-off and we'll tell you what's most useful that week.
Monetary donations are always needed too — they help us spay/neuter, vaccinate, and care for animals while they wait for a home. Give here →
Ready to help hands-on?
Whether you have an afternoon a week or a spare room for a foster, we'd love to talk. Reach out and tell us a little about how you'd like to get involved.
Foster & Volunteer
Give your time or open your home
Volunteers are the heart of our shelter — helping with daily animal care, cleaning, socializing dogs and cats, events, and more.
Foster homes provide a temporary, loving place for animals who need extra time before adoption — young litters, animals recovering from surgery, or pets who simply do better outside the shelter. We provide guidance every step of the way.
Critter Giver 500 Club
Join the Critter Giver Club
It's a club with no meetings, no dues, no club song, and no secret handshake — the only perk is the great feeling that comes from helping animals in need.
For over a century, the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA has placed animals in forever homes, reunited lost pets with their families, and helped owners keep their pets at home. The Critter Giver Club brings together supporters whose steady, ongoing gifts help us keep that work going year-round.

Planned Giving
Where there's a will, there's a way
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the hard work of our staff, the shelter has made real progress in recent years. The gifts we receive are used carefully to give the best possible care to the dogs and cats who come to us.
You can help us continue that mission for generations to come by remembering the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA in your will. A planned gift helps us build a reserve so we can keep our doors open through good times and hard times alike.
Forming a will is a thoughtful act of care — for your family and for the causes you love. We recommend speaking with your attorney or financial advisor, and we're always happy to talk.
